Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-06-11

This Privacy Policy describes how PrepLattice LLC ("PrepLattice," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with our online services (the "Service"). It is part of our Terms of Service.

1. Information we collect

We may collect or receive the following categories of personal information:

  • Account information — the email address you sign up with and any other information you choose to share. Source: you, directly. Used to: deliver the Service, authenticate you, and communicate about your account.
  • Usage information — questions you attempt, answers you submit, time spent, bookmarks, feedback. Source: your interactions with the Service. Used to: deliver the Service, generate your analytics, and improve the product.
  • Technical information — device type, browser, IP address, and information derived from those (such as approximate region inferred from IP). Source: your browser/device, automatically. Used to: deliver the Service, secure it against fraud and abuse, and analyze aggregate usage.
  • Payment information — billing details that you provide to our payment processor directly. We receive only the identifiers needed to verify your subscription status; we do not see or store your card number.
  • Communications — messages you send us through email or in-product feedback. Source: you. Used to: respond and improve the Service.

2. How we use information

We use information to run and improve the Service: to deliver practice questions, track your attempts, communicate with you about the Service, secure the Service against fraud and abuse, comply with legal obligations, and develop new features.

3. How we share information

We share information with:

  • Service providers in the following categories: authentication, database, hosting and content delivery, payment processing, product analytics, and customer communications. Our current providers, by purpose, are listed on our Sub-processors page; specific providers may change as the Service evolves.
  • Content-generation infrastructure: third-party large-language- model providers help our content team draft practice questions. This use does not involve your account, your personal information, or your attempt history.
  • Support and message handling: when you send us a message — for example a comment on a question, feedback, or a support or contact request — the content you send may be processed by a third-party large-language-model provider to help us categorize your message and draft a response. For a comment on a specific question, that content includes the question and the answer you selected; for a support or contact message, it includes your message and the email address you use to reach us. We do not permit these providers to use your content to train their models, and we do not sell it.
  • Successors if PrepLattice is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
  • Legal authorities when we're required to comply with the law or to respond to lawful requests.
  • To protect rights of PrepLattice, our users, or others, where reasonable.
  • You — or anyone you ask us to share with.

4. International transfers

PrepLattice and our service providers may process information in the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you agree to this cross-border handling.

5. Retention

We retain information for different periods depending on the category:

  • Account information — while your account is active, and for up to 90 days after deletion.
  • Usage information (attempts, bookmarks, feedback) — for the life of your account, so your diagnostics and mistake review remain available. Deleted on request, subject to the exceptions below.
  • Technical logs — typically up to 90 days for security and operational diagnostics.
  • Payment metadata (transaction identifiers, subscription state) — up to 7 years, to comply with tax and financial-record laws.

When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we delete or anonymize it on a routine schedule. Some information may be kept after deletion where the law allows or requires it.

6. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information. No service is completely secure, though, so we can't ensure absolute security.

7. Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses.

To exercise any of these rights, email questions@preplattice.com. We'll respond within 45 days where required by US state law, and within the time required by other applicable laws. We will not retaliate against you for exercising your rights.

We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests. Some information may be kept after deletion where the law allows or requires it.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

We and our service providers use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, secure the Service, and analyze usage. Your browser or device settings let you control these, though disabling them may affect how the Service works.

We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals. Where required by law, we honor opt-out preferences communicated through Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals.

9. Children

The Service is not for children under 18, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has shared information with us, let us know and we'll delete it.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. For material changes to how we collect, use, or share your information, we'll provide notice (by email or in-app prompt) and, where required by law, ask for your consent before applying the change. Other updates take effect when posted.
